The Area

Bhandardara is a place for those who want to explore some of the best sights that nature has to offer. You can take your pick of trekking options - the highest peak in the state, Mount Kalsubai, the 200-year-old Ratangad Fort, and the even more ancient 6th-century Harishchandragad Fort are just a few of some of the most popular spots. There are also dozens of campgrounds here, especially around Arthur Lake. If you visit before the monsoon begins, you'll be treated to swarms of fireflies putting on a show of lights. After monsoons, Umbrella Falls originate from the Wilson Dam, creating a mesmerizing view that you can take in from a footbridge. 

The Resort

MTDC Bhandardara provides a stunning view of Arthur Lake. It is an old colonial style resort that offers spacious rooms and scenic views of the area. The resort has a huge parking space and an on-property restaurant that specialises in crab curry and specially cooked Katla fish which is freshly fetched from the lake. You can also enjoy activities like boating and fishing at the lake right from the resort. With easy access to Arthur Lake and Wilson Dam, this is one of the best places to stay in the area.
